A disappointing end for the USA Women at the Dubai 7s, as the Eagles dropped its Plate semifinal 24-21 to Fiji. The Americans played catch-up the entire match and could subdue the Fijians' unconventional, erratic style.

Canada came into the women's Dubai 7s with one of the most seasoned lineups, and that fact reiterated itself during the team's 36-0 Cup quarterfinal win over the U.S. The Eagles had a successful day one, going 2-1 and coming within one try of New Zealand, but all confidence belonged to Canada on day two of competition.
