The USA Men’s 7s team is now 8th in the HSBC Sevens World Series.
And while the coveted top four spot, which would mean automatic qualification for the 2016 Olympics, is probably out of reach, 6th place is not, and that would be easily the best finish for the Eagles in the World Series.

SÃO PAULO – The Women’s Eagles Sevens gained 10 points from São Paulo Sevens Sunday as the sixth-best team with a 14-5 loss to England in the Plate Final at Arena Barueri.
The USA Men’s 7s team will make one change for the USA 7s in Las Vegas, with Ahmad Harajly switching teams to play for the USA Falcons in the LVI, while Pat Blair joins the full Eagles team.
This isn’t a demotion, USA Head Coach Mike Friday told Goff Rugby Report. Instead, it’s a chance for Harajly to get more game time.
The USA men’s 7s team has a very favorable pool for the USA 7s in Las Vegas.
For years the Eagles have had to contend with very difficult pools in their home tournament, but that, in part, has been a function of poor performances in the Wellington 7s the week before.
The USA Women have life yet, as their 26-7 win over Spain was enough for the last berth to the Sao Paulo 7s Cup quarterfinals. The Eagles (1-2) finished third in Pool A, and with a points differential of -6, beat out fellow third-best Fiji (-17) for a spot in tomorrow's playoffs.
