ST. CHARLES, Mo. (From USA Rugby Release) – USA Rugby's Men's Junior All-Americans will re-assemble Friday in the program's second camp of th 2015-16 season.
Interim Head Coach JD Stephenson will host the team at his very own Lindenwood University - a move that makes sense given that Stephenson is there anyway and was able to get things ready and provide the field space.
Paced by a massive payday from the USA v New Zealand game, USA Rugby’s revenue in 2014 improved over $4 million from 2013.
Players at the HS All-American Winter Camp were expected to reach tougher fitness and skill standards than in the past, and the players welcomed the change.
“It was very intense,” said Arkansas-based scrumhalf Ruben de Haas. “We had to work really hard and as a result it was a really high-quality camp.”
The USA men’s 7s program sent a team to Mar Del Plata in Argentina to compete in the American Sevens, and the Falcons placed 4th, losing to Chile 17-7 in the bronze medal match.
Argentina defeated South Africa in the final.
