GLENDALE, Colo. — USA Rugby High Performance Pathways has opened applications for two virtual national academies to develop halfbacks (scrumhalves) and flyhalves.

Both academies begin in January of 2021 with an annual curriculum designed to develop the nation’s top men’s and women’s players across both positions.

USA Rugby is in a difficult spot coming out of this year's bankruptcy, as cash flow from sources other thank World Rugby are slow in awakening.

Sponsorship deals are soon to expire, and as USA Rugby CEO Ross Young said, despite the supportiveness of major sponsors EY and UL, he doesn't anticipate the corporate sponsorship picture getting any rosier.
