High School Girls
For the second consecutive year, the Iowa Youth Rugby Association (IAYRA) has increased its girls league’s membership by more than 50%. The high school competition has added three new 7s teams – Lincoln, Roosevelt, Boone – and 60 new players to the fall season.

So many standouts emerged – and reasserted themselves – last week as the junior and high school All Americans went 4-0 against their Canadian opponents. One of the most impressive aspects of these tours was the performance of the high schoolers who played up on the Women’s Junior All Americans (WJAAs).
The West has supplied the majority of players to the Girls High School All American (GHSAA) team preparing to face the British Columbia U18s next week. Twenty-one players hail from California (10), Washington (6), Colorado (3), and Oregon (2), while the remaining six hail from the Midwest (4) and East Coast (2).
