High School Girls
It's been a bit of a Lilly Durbin summer, as the diminutive but brave Fallbrook fullback blasted through, around, and between defenders to fuel a Fallbrook NIT victory, and then did the same to help take Southern California to the recent Stars & Stripes game, where she was a star for the Stripes.
The Stripes beat the Stars 27-10 in the Girls Stars & Stripes game Wednesday morning at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
The Stripes were led by a physically imposing pack, and a group of small, scampering backs who just seemed to work together a little bit better than the Stars team.
The lineups for the girls Stars & Stripes game have been named.
The two teams, looking to push for places in the national U20 team, will face off the monring of Wednesday, July 16. Check back with Goff Rugby Report for more coverage.
In winning the California State Games girls division, the Fullerton Girls team outscored their opposition 137-10.
Only South Bay scored against them, as the two teams traded tries before Fullerton ran away late 24-10.
It was nothing more than what was expected, said Fullerton coach Ravi Perera.
The Fullerton girls Lady Lions rugby team took home the gold Saturday at the California State Games girls rugby 7s.
Fullerton defeated South Bay 24-10 in the final for their second-straight State Games championship.
