Reminder: Championship Application Deadline Approaching
The deadline for entry in the 2015 Girls High School National Invitational Championship is quickly approaching. All interested parties must apply by Sunday, Feb. 1 to be considered for inclusion. Click here to access the application and detailed information.
Organized by the National Girls’ Coaches Committee (NGCC) and hosted by the Pittsburgh Harlequins, the 16th annual tournament will be held from Friday-Sunday, May 15-17 in Pittsburgh, Pa. The elite competition features eight-team Division I and Division II championships, and interest will determine the possibility of a DIII championship. This is not a select-side event; combined sides are prohibited and all athletes must be high school students to compete.
The championship application can be downloaded here. Digitally submit your team’s registration form to Anthony Sasso (anthonysasso711@yahoo.com). A non-refundable $500 entry fee and an appearance deposit will be required to accept a bid to the GNIC. Divisions and seeding will be decided the week of the tournament by the NGCC, who will take into account current records, including the most recent regional and state playoffs.
Inquiries regarding competition questions may be directed to members of the NGCC below. Venue questions should be directed to host and tournament director Matt Rosemeyer (matt@pittsburghharlequins.org)
We welcome and encourage those teams with aspirations of high-level play to this highly competitive event.
