High School Boys
In a wild weekend of high school rugby action, both #1-ranked high school teams lost.
The top-ranked HS club, Woodlands, lost in a tight one on tour in Tennessee, with #21 Germantown defeating the Texas-based team 27-24. This was not a massive upset, as Germantown has logged some good results of late, and Woodlands' place as #1 was vulnerable as more top clubs get on the field.
De La Salle defeated Carlsbad in dramatic fashion Saturday to win the All-California championship, coming back to win it on the final play of the game.
In a very well-played match in which the Carlsbad players showed themselves to be a formidable force, De La Salle had all they could handle.
It's a weekend of big crossover games as the Ra Puriri Classic, Gonzaga vs St. Ignatius, and Xavier playing two teams in New Jersey, bu there's more than that.
There's also the matter of the SoCal Varsity White champion, Carslbad, taking on the NorCal SS champ, De La Salle.
Check back for scores.
It’s #10 vs #1 as St. Ignatius out of the Cleveland area takes on a Gonzaga team that almost lost last weekend.
For St. Ignatius this is a pretty steep hill to climb for the firs game of the season, but Head Coach Dan Arbeznik figures they have to start somewhere.
Atlantis U18 Boys have named their roster for the LA Invitational.
With this tournament featuring four programs slated to play in the NAHS 7s Series this year, this tournament is hugely challenging. Atlantis is in Pool A with Legion Academy, Eagle Impact Academy Red, Stars, and Tempe.
