Bishop O'Dowd kicked off the Northern California single-school campaign with a resounding win over Fresno-based San Joaquin Memorial.
No. 8 OC Lehner had a hat trick, while scrumhalf Willem Van Niekerk and fullback Cory Casquiero each scored two tries. Adding to that, center Elliot Lewis logged 17 points with six conversions and a try, and O'Dowd won 52-5.
Loyola HS of Los Angeles pulled off something of an upset during the week, beating Los Alamitos 25-21 in SoCal league play.
