High School Boys
Rugby Texas's Boys HS league started this weekend, although several teams will wait until next week.
Cy-Fair started off their official league campaign with a 45-7 defeat of Memorial.
Head Coach Kenneth Hepburn has a high percentage of players returning from last year, and in fact a core of players who have been with the program since its inception.
From Texas to California to Georgia to South Carolina, here are some of the Boys HS players who made an impact this past weekend:
The Ariel Re Bermuda 7s Boys HS bracket is still open to teams.
Two teams representing Bermuda, plus Greenwich HS out of Connecticut and West Chester our of Pensylvania, are playing in a 7s tornament in Bermuda March 18-19. But there is room for a couple more.
Northern California’s extensive Boys DII league is offend running.
Winners this past weekend include Bellarmine Prep 40-14 over PITS, Napa 24-7 over Santa Rosa, Buchanan 21-19 over Clovis, and Bishop O’Dowd 59-5 over South Valley.
In a preseason clash between two teams from different divisions, Granite Bay held off the Pleasanton Cavaliers 17-14 this past weekend.
Granite Bay is GRR #4 HS club and finished 2nd in Northern California's club division in 2015 (the region has since realigned). So losing by three for Pleasanton was not a bad result at all.
