High School Boys
Week 2 of our Boys High School Club rankings wes several changes, as we told you we would.
The key change of course is that the San Diego Mustangs got on the field and won on the road in Tempe. That's a tough game to win, and at the moment that's enough to bump the Mustangs up significantly.
Of course starting a ranking each year is difficult, and starting it after all this shutdown (lack of) activity is even more difficult.
We still don't know for sure which teams will suit up, although we're getting a clearer picture of that every day.
The Naples Hammerheads boys team have taken control of the Florida U19 league with a difficult 24-21 road win over Key Biscayne.
The win put Naples at 4-0 in the league, well ahead of everyone else, and while there’s still plenty of rugby to be played, Naples is in excellent position to be the top team in the state.
St. Thomas Aquinas powered through Bixby 41-14 to open up the season for the Saints.
Head Coach Tim Kluempers had a very strong team in 2020 and has come back with a group that might have a few questions, but seems to have started when it left off last year.
Southern California's boys high school season will be a little different this year but it's still inching its way forward, and this weekend three teams met for a series of shortened games to get the party started.
