Elite 7s
The North American Lions elite-level HS touring 7s program has named its coaches for 2019.
The program will send a boys team to three different tournaments: the Tournoi Des Capitales in Paris, the Dubai7s (which they won in 2018), and the Rugbytown 7s in Glendale, CO. Meanwhile, a girls team will also go to Paris.
Eagle Impact Rugby Academy enjoyed a hugely successful Las Vegas Invitational, rebounding from a slightly disappointing 2018 result.
The Evolution 7s won the Boys Open 7s in Las Vegas, with the new girls team taking 8th, an impressive showing for the Idaho-based program.
The Boys team was led by several strong performances, with captain Logan Hill at the head of the effort, with Jackson Pabst, Jake Pingree, Clint Hersey, Tiai Vavao, Tyson Bradford, and Tyler Williams having srong weekends.
The Atlantis elite select side has announced that Sophie Pyrz and Jack Bradfield have become the first former Atlantis High School players to play with the senior Atlantis women and men’s teams on an overseas tour.
The North American Lions took home the Boys International U19 championship at the Dubai 7s over the weekend.
The NA Lions for short, is an Elite Invitational team created by four core academy programs in North America: EIRA, Atlantis, Upright Rugby, and Utah Rugby Academy, with players coming from primarily those four teams.
