It was an interesting weekend for Penn State. The nine-time DI champion hit the road for a double-header, but it was the friendly against the DII team, and not the DI conference game, that proved more challenging.
For the newly forming varsity teams around the country, there’s something special about playing Eastern Illinois University, the first varsity women’s program in U.S. history. Last Saturday, Life University welcomed EIU to Marietta, Ga., and then celebrated a 61-0 win over the visitors.

It was crossover weekend for the Northeast DI women’s colleges, which produced one thing: big scores. These games do not impact standings, and good thing, because Norwich, Army and American International College outscored their opponents by a combined 348-5.
