College Women
Norwich women won its third 7s tournament of the spring season, outscoring opponents 171-7 en route to the Scott Milley 7s title at the University of New Hampshire. But that points differential isn't even the most impressive stat; the Cadets have never lost a 7s game – ever – and boast a 51-0 all-time record.
USA Rugby has finalized the Round of 16 for DI and DII women’s colleges (read more). There are some concerns – check out the DII Southwest Regional or the déjà vu in the DI West – and they make one long for the playoffs that existed only a couple of years ago.
BOULDER, Colo. – The locations and teams for the April 10-12 Women’s Division I and Division II Regional Spring Championships have been finalized. The completion of conference playoffs has seen Conference Champions into Regionals, while nine DI teams reach the round of 16 as at-large participants, and five DII teams fill out Regionals by way of at-large placement.
Texas is finally getting some representation at the women’s DII college national championship. The state routinely sends a team to the DI Round of 16, while the DII league has rallied around participation. In 2015, the Lonestar conference is supplying Texas State to the opening round of playoffs, where it will play UC Riverside in Albuquerque, N.M.
Alabama’s season has been filled with close games and the DII South Independent conference playoffs were no different. The Crimson Tide entered the post-season atop the South division, boasting a 4-0 record, but all of the games' point differentials were in the single digits.
