BERKELEY - Sixteen new student-athletes have joined the Golden Bears this fall as rugby embarks on its 133rd year as the oldest intercollegiate sport on campus at the University of California.

University of Rhode Island and University of Vermont will have a lot to say to each other in a couple of weeks as they prepare for two games against each other in a row. Xavier College of Cincinnati put themselves in control of the Great Lakes South with a 36-21 defeat of previously-unbeaten Marshall. The two teams had already met once, with Xavier coming back from 17 points down to tie the game 22-22.
