GRR: Sacred Heart
Harvard defeated a very tough Queens University Charlotte Saturday to the tune of 60-17.
It was an impressive road win for the Crimson, paced by four tries from Lennox London and tries from Josephine Mignone, PK Vincze, Chloe Headland, Charlotte Gilmour, Nafanua Fitisemanu, and Ava Ferrence.
In what was one of the most entertaining and dramatic NIRA games of the season, West Point held off Sacred Heart 26-20 on Alumni Night in Fairfield, Conn.
This was a game that wasn’t perfectly-played—both teams made errors—but it was back-and-forth throughout and hinged on several key moments.
The most compelling game of the NIRA weekend as September ended was in D-II.
West Chester, having lost their opener by a significant margin, rebounded against Frostburg and then ran up against New Haven on Saturday. That game was a barnburner.
NIRA’s D-I is still very tight as evidenced by Harvard’s five-point victory over Sacred Heart Friday night.
Harvard improved to 2-0-1 while SHU dropped to 1-1.
The NCAA D1 teams kick off their NIRA league seasons this coming weekend and we’re taking a look at it.
