GRR: Salisbury
In a move applauded by anyone who knew him, and in what was also a big surprise, the intramural field complex at Salisbury University is being named after longtime Salisbury rugby coach Dr. Robert Davis.
As expected the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference is a little confusing, and this week's results don't make it any more predictable.
Even as college rugby conferences are shifting their associations, teams within those conferences are also moving around.
And one major issue is now rearing its head—varsity status.
A year after winning the Men's DII College championship, North Carolina State might be going to the fall DIAA playoffs.
The Wolfpack won the runner-up playoff Saturday against Salisbury, defeating the Sharks 24-15 in the playoff between the #2 and #3 team in the conference.
As has been the case all season, the game was close.
Without playing this weekend, NC State did what it needed to do and will be in the 2nd-vs-3rd playoff in the Chesapeake Conference.
