GRR: Pendleton
Pendleton defeated St. Ignatius in the final of the Midwest Championships Sunday, taking the game 25-21 to cap off a 3-0 weekend.
While it is fair to say this was not a completely full-strength St. Ignatius team—no seniors due to prom weekend—this was still a very good showing from the Arabians of Indiana.
Pendleton remains the top boys HS team in Indiana after a 45-12 win over Royal Irish.
Pendleton spread the scoring around the team with Jayvith Kissick, Peyton Pollock, Steven Devault, and Jacob Rowley all scoring tries. No. 8 Dresden Roberts scored two while Nick Trout, lining up at fullback, converted five.
Pendleton is on a roll and perhaps no clearer evidence of that is their imposing victory over Indiana rivals Westside Black Swarm over the weekend.
A year ago these teams went through overtime and their state final was decided on penalty kicks.
