The surprise of the DIAA playoff picture has to be Yale University, which came into the Ivy League play-ins as the lowest seed - so low, in fact, that they only made the cut because Columbia didn’t want to play in it.
And yet, Yale upset favorites Cornell 34-5 on Saturday, and then defeated Brown 18-13 to take the final Sunday.
The University of Central Florida defeated Middle Tennessee State University 48-10 Sunday in the final of the South Independent Rugby Conference, securing a DIAA quarterfinal spot for the Knights.

Western Washington University and the University of Washington will meet next week to decide who represents the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference in the national DIAA playoffs.
Middle Tennessee State and Central Florida will contest for the SIRC conference title Sunday after both teams won their playoff games Saturday.
Central Florida beat Kennesaw State 87-7.
"They are as advertised," said MTSU Coach Jody Hensley. "They are big, fit, fast, and play good rugby. They will be tough."
The University of Arkansas took one fairly big step closer to claiming the Heart of America conference with a 67-7 defeat of Truman State Saturday.
Their two main rivals won, also, but it still seems that the Razorbacks are in the driver's seat.
