Is there a trend away from 7s in college rugby?
In one sense, the answer to that question is: "obviously not." A huge number of D2 and Small College teams are playing 7s this spring, looking to compete in the CRC in the DC area (Germantown, Md.) at the end of April.
That isn't really changing much.
But elsewhere? Well, let's have a look:

With Florida DIAA College Conference leaders South Florida getting a bye this weekend, USF could sit back and watch the rest of the league go at each other.
Which is exactly what they did.
Two of the games were one-pointers, with Florida edging past Florida Atlantic 18-17 and Florida International coming back to defeat Florida State 34-33.
Central Washington's 29-26 defeat of Saint Mary's headlines the DIA results of the weekend.
The Wildcats ut Saint Mary's under pressure throughout the game and even when they saw their lead disappear, responded with intensity to regain the lead. This was CWU's first-ever win over Saint Mary's.
