GRR: College Men
There is no rest for the wicked, so they say - or maybe it’s no rest for the weary - and certainly there’s no rest for any college rugby team that wants to get to the top.
The big moves in this week's rankings are with the Service Academies.
The USC Men’s Rugby Club traveled south to the home field of Los Angeles Rugby Club for a “home” game against Cal State University Fullerton in week four of Gold Coast Collegiate Conference play, but with expectations high after last week's victory over San Diego, Head Coach Domininic Riebli called his team's defeat of CSUF "pedestrian."
St. Mary’s opened up their California Conference season with a fairly straightforward 61-7 defeat of San Diego State this past weekend.
Although the opponent was strong and the score impressive, SMCC Head Coach Tim O’Brien was underwhelmed by his team’s effort.
The pools are set for the Men’s CRC Qualifier in Las Vegas, March 3-5.
There is, in fact, still room for one more team - only 23 have registered, and so one of the pools is still looking for a team.
But, with that said, here are the pools:
Pool A: AIC, Miami (Ohio), Colorado State, Ithaca 2
Pool B: Notre Dame College, James Madison, Colorado, UNLV
