GRR: College Men
Of the 40 teams in our D2 rankings, 28 represent rankings changes this week.
Now that the season has started in earnest we can drop a couple of teams out (Central Missouri has numbers issues, for example), and bring some teams in based on results we were waiting for.
This was a really good weekend for the rankings because we had seven games in which NCR D1 ranked teams played other NCR D1 ranked teams.
In addition, three NCR D1 teams played CRAA D1A opposition.
In two days the World University Rugby Invitational Tournament kicks off, and there’s an American team in it.
Assembled and overseen by Thomas Clark and coached by Ed Tubridy, the Atlantic Coast All-Stars features a team made up mostly of recently-graduated players with their work most decidedly cut out for them.
We'll have more on what Arkansas State is up to, but their significant victory over Iowa Central bumps them up this week.
Iowa Central CC Head Coach Brent Nelson told us we had Arkansas State ranked too low, and we're inclined to agree.
Bucknell and Scranton moved to 2-0 in the MARC D2 North after wins over the weekend.
Neither of these teams is all that separated from the rest of the conference as Villanova and Bloomsburg are both at 1-0 and right behind them.
Scranton moved to 2-0 by beating East Stroudsburg 81-12.
