The big mover this week is Central Washington, which produced two victories against strong Canadian opposition since our last rankings.
It's certainly possible that CWU could be ranked even higher and since Central has Arizona, Saint Mary's, and BYU on their schedule, they will have plenty of opportunity to show it.
Well, we're back.
We return to the D1AA rankings and we've kept the teams that were done in the fall in the list. We might split off the Spring-only teams but that would not be a ranking of 40.
Texas beat previously unbeaten TCU 38-0 in Red River Conference play Saturday.
For the Longhorns, this was a nice step forward as they moved to 3-0 in the conference and in a solid position to remain atop the standings.
Fullback Aleander Teague scored two tries for Teas while scrumhalf Theo Quay, flanker Jack Slaney, lock Tom Marlow, and wing Guy Leroux all scored one try.
Florida State opened up their Florida D1AA season with an impressive 33-14 win over Central Florida.
On a windy day the breeze had a distinct effect on field possession for the teams, nd FSU handled it a little bit better.
"Typically UCF gets better through the season and they are a good team; we expect them to be improved later on," said FSU Head Coach Michael Gomez.
In a meeting of two highly-ranked D1A teams Saint Mary's defeated Arizona 48-15 in Moraga.
It was, thankfully, finally good weather in Northern California and set the scene for an intense match, and it was. Competitive, hard-hitting, and at times chippy, the game was a good reminder for both teams how tough it gets as the season progresses.
