The Tropical 7s kicks off this weekend.
As was the case last year, this tournament has a significant international flair; in additional to the many teams from the USA and Canada, this year the Jamaica Junior Cros, Trinidad & Tobago Moka Lions, Cayman Rugby, and Future Elite Sports from England are all competing.
It was a weekend of competitive balance at the Elite Girls Rugby League Rugby Showcase South over the last two days.
Teams from eight states—Vienna, Clayton/Raleigh, Atlanta Valkyries, Raleigh Cobras, Downingtown, Doylestown, Charlotte Cardinals, West Carroll, Wando, Morris, and Aspetuck—were in action at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.
This season Panther Rugby Academy held three camps in the southeast, looking ahead to a very busy 2024.
Starting in Hendersonville, Tenn. in December, moving on to Gibsonville, NC in January, and ending with a Super Camp in Roswell, Ga. in February, these camps were geared towards player development, identification, and then selection for Tropical 7s in late March.
The Carolina Ruggerfest produced some girls performances of note.
And as we look toward a March and April in girls rugby some of the teams involved put their hands up.
