It’s #1 v #3 but not the way you might think.
Right now Goff Rugby Report has Fort Hunt as the #1 HS Club team, and Gonzaga as the #3 single-school team, but really if you look at the history of things, Gonzaga would still have to be favored. Gonzaga has won three straight national championships, while Fort Hunt is still shooting for those lofty heights.
The second weekend of the Mid-Atlantic Premier League is set with all six teams in action.
On Saturday, Gonzaga hosts Downingtown in what will be Downingtown’s first MAPL game and Gonzaga’s third. Gonzaga will be looking to rebound from an update loss to Doylestown, while Downingtown has high hopes for this season in the MAPL and in Pennsylvania.
The first weekend of the Mid-Atlantic Premier League is in the books and already the competition for top high schools out of Virginia, DC, and Pennsylvania is bearing fruit.
Some top Boys HS teams from the Mid-Atlantic area will be coming together to form an independent league, much in the same model as the Mid-South Invitational Rugby League.
Emmitsburg, Md. - The West Shore United Boys Rugby Club went 3-0 at the Maryland Exiles International Rugby Festival, held this weekend on the picturesque Mount Saint Mary’s University Campus, to claim the top honors in the High School Boys Premier Division. West Shore defeated West Carroll, Md. in their first match by a score of 15-7.
