The last time Army and Navy women were on the field in major competition was a year ago, when both were in the finals of their respective championships; both came away runners-up, and since then the COVID-19 shutdowns have made it difficult for them to rebound.
The US Service Academy women's teams look like they will have a similar rugby-playing profile to the men's programs.
"For a non-rugby season it's crazy how busy things are," joked West Point Head Coach Bill LeClerc.
The US Service Academies may possibly play in a series of games this fall.
Goff Rugby Report spoke to Alex DiMarco and Cassidy Bargell, both finalists for the MA Sorensen Award, which is given every year to the top women's college rugby player in the country.
