GRR: Union HS Oregon
The Pacific Cup kicks off Thursday at noon with some of the top HS teams in the nation facing off.
The tournament is a three-game, three-day quarterfinal-semifinal-final bracket format and will be held on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.
The games will be hosted by the San Francisco Golden Gate club, and the tournament’s main sponsor is Canterbury.
Union HS in Oregon may well have cleared the path to another state title after beating previously-unbeaten Portland Pumas last week, and maybe that’s why the Titans are looking for more challenges.
It was a quiet weekend in Rugby Oregon, but Union HS did get on the field, putting, as they usually do, two squad in competition.
The Union 2nd side tied Battle Ground 10-10, which was a very good result for the Union 2nds. The halfback combo of Parker Johnson and Austin Lewis played well against an experienced and physical Battle Ground team.
