The girls teams in the SCIRF will meet up this weekend for a 7s championship.
Games of 15s or 10s are expected following this weekend, giving players a chance to get more experience in the aspects of play needed for the larger-squad versions of rugby. But 7s it will be this weekend.
Who plays Cathedral Catholic in the SCIRF Boys final will be determined this Saturday as the two teams with only one loss face off.
That one loss for Fallbrook and for St. Augustine was, of course, to Cathedral (who are 7-0).
This promises to be a tight game, with the two teams having had very similar results against the same opponents.
The Holy Bowl is an intense rivalry between San Diego high schools Cathedral Catholic and St Augustine; it's been contested in many sports for over 70 years, and in rugby for 14, including Friday night.

Fallbrook and Cathedral Catholic both won in SCIRF action this weekend.
Cathedral moved to 3-0 with a 47-7 victory over La Costa Canyon. Fallbrook rode a solid defensive effort to defeat Mira Costa 24-3.
