Goff Rankings
This was a week of several rankings upsets.
Most of them came about because a) a team that had built its ranking on good early results faded due to injuries, or other challenges; b) the opposite happened, and a team that lost an early game or two just got better, got players back from injury, or got some late recruits; or c) we just had it wrong.
This week's Power Index we see a few power shifts and some changes.
With GRR getting more involved in voting for the DIA rankings, we're keeping this ranking clear of any teams not considered for it.
So all you see here is how we voted for the official DIA rankings. First off, here is the official Top 25:
Not a lot of change in the rankings this week, but there is one big shift, with Mary Washington bumping up to #1.
With Dartmouth idle and and Tennessee not in a game we expected much from, UMW beating #12 Mount St. Mary's was good enough to get the unbeaten (in DIAA) Mothers to the top. For now.
With the #1 team losing we have to have a new #1.
Adrian had a good chance to vault into that place but—as has been the case through a chunk of their season—they had an opponent cancel on them, and #2 Norwich beat a ranked opponent in convincing fashion. So it's logical that Norwich takes the #1 spot.
