Goff Rankings
This was a relatively quiet D2 weekend because of the long weekend, but we did get some results that prompted some changes.
We've decided to rank D1AA teams per month in addition to some of our other rankings.
This is thanks to a request from readers and we are keeping it monthly because otherwise we'd never get anything done.
So this is only teams that play significantly in the fall and who are D1AA in either NCR, ACR/CRA, or independent.
The top five or six (or more) are making themselves known, and it's basically teams that win consistently and win by large margins.
Usually these top-ranked teams also hold the opposition to not very much. That's basically why the teams ranked in the top eight are ranked there.
Well is Army really the #1 team in the fall?
Until they lose, probably. They certainly looked their unflinching, pitiless best against St. Bonaventure over the weekend.
The only change in the top 12 is BYU easing ahead of Life thanks to a really strong outing against both Colorado and Colorado State.
Our latest All-D1-Fall-Only ranking sees very little change near the top but a lot of movement in the middle.
Our task in this ranking is to recognize that D1A, NCR D1, and both CRAA D1AA and NCR D1AA all play across boundaries. Ohio State played Bowling Green this past weekend. St. Bonaventure played Virginia Tech. Davenport played Iowa Central.
