GRR: PR 7s
As the USA vs Canada women’s test match looms for this coming Sunday, there’s a lesson in perseverance to take from one of the players.
Amanda Berta, a standout at Penn State and a player who has continued to show well for some years, got her first cap against South Africa this month, and she may well earn her second this Sunday. It’s been a long time coming.
As we come to the fourth Talent ID Trial for PR7s it's interesting to note the young players who have shown their abilities.
One of those out of the Kansas City Trial was Aidan Chavez, a player for the Kansas City Junior Blues who turned heads at the Kansas City Trial.
Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s), the highest professional level of rugby sevens in the United States, will host Talent ID Trials in San Jose on Sunday, Feb. 25, and Los Angeles on Friday, March 1.
The next two PR7s Talent ID Trials will be held in California.
After camps being held in Pittsburgh in December and Kansas City in January, there will be events in San Jose February 25 and March1 in Los Angeles.
PR7s just held their latest open tryouts, enticing players from all over the West to Kansas City to go through workouts and games in the hopes of being picked up by a pro 7s team.
Overseeing it all was Mike Tolkin, who is PR7s General Manager and who helps teams find players for the summer season (the schedule for which is coming out soon).
