GRR: Old Glory DC
Old Glory DC Rugby is supporting a separate non-profit to develop young rugby players in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
Young Glory is a non-profit that provides sporting opportunities in rugby for kids from the age of five years old up to 23. They work throughout the DMV area and even further afield, including Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Old Glory is continuing its community outreach with several events this weekend in the DC area.
There will be Youth Clinics at West Potomac HS on Sunday, Feb 23 at 9am (hosted by Fort Hunt), at Cavalier Lacrosse Park Noon (hosted by Loudoun Rugby), and Albert Einstein School (at 3PM) (hosted by Bethesda).
These youth events will be free to all participants.
The Old Glory DC Major League Rugby team has unveiled an ambitious plan to support the game in communities around the region.
Throughout February, Old Glory will be supporting youth and high school events, some being high-level skills clinics, and others being rugby days designed to increase interest among young kids.
In a move certain to send shock waves through Major League Rugby and ripples around the rugby world, Old Glory DC has signed Tendai “the Beast” Mtawarira to play for the 2020 MLR season.
