There are no changes, as the DIAA Fall Final went according to plan - Notre Dame College Wins Fall DIAA - so to keep you enthralled we have underneath rankings of DIAA team that played in the fall.
Notre Dame College has booked a place in the 2016-17 national DIAA final with a nicely balanced defeat of Bowling Green State University Sunday morning.
The game, held at Furman University in Greenville, NC, was the USA Rugby Fall DIAA final, and the winner is slated to meet the Spring, 2017 DIAA winner in May.
Conference play is the goal of USA Rugby’s Collegiate Rugby division, and they are looking to get those that played independent schedules to find a conference for next season.
But at the same time, the world of college rugby conferences is fluid, and we’re unlikely to find that in 2017-18 everything will be settled.
Bowling Green State University has been at the forefront of Men’s DI College Rugby for many years.
Under the guidance of Roger, and then Tony Mazzarella, the Falcons have dominated the MAC and much of the Midwest for years. But they have never made a national final … until now.
Sunday’s DIAA semifinal in Pittsburgh was exactly the opposite of what Notre Dame College wanted.
The Falcons wanted dry conditions, and a chance for open running. Instead, they got a mud bowl, and a big, physical University of Cincinnati team that looked at least a little more comfortable playing in that mud.
