GRR: Northern Iowa
The WIIL Men's DII collegiate rugby conference has settled its schedule for the fall of 2015.
The conference now covers teams in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa, with the addition in the South Division of Northern Iowa - switching over from the Northern Lights - and Lindenwood-Belleville, a brand-new program starting this season.
Vic Tise has learned a lot about his team in the past few weeks. The new Air Force coach took over for Lisa Rosen this fall and led his team to a 4-4 record. The Zoomies won the games they should have won and lost the games they should have lost, but that’s not to say the team didn’t improve throughout the season.
University of Northern Iowa may be famous for being the school that launched the career of former Eagle Paul Emerick, but it's not as if they're done playing rugby after that.
UNI, playing in the Northern Lights Conference, which covers Minnesota and a couple of other states, won their second game in a row this weekend, beating North Dakota State 72-33.
