Hough will play Marvin Ridge in next week’s North Carolina School final, providing fans with a replay of last year’s championship match.
Both teams won their semifinals Friday night via shutout.
Hough won comfortably over Sun Valley, taking the game 56-0 (officially listed as 35-0 per NCYRU rules). But when we get to knockout rugby all bets are off about winning margins.
It was very cold and windy in North Carolina but that didn’t chill the drama as two of the top school teams in the state faced off.
South Meck came into the game leading the league with a 4-0 record (tied with Hough), while Marvin Ridge was close with a 4-1 record.
South Meck, Hough, Marvin Ridge, and Sun Valley all won in North Carolina's school season over the weekend.

In an early showdown of top teams in North Carolina, the Hough Huskies defeated defending NC school-team champions Marvin Ridge 31-14.
"We were really locked in and when chances arose we were clinical so all credit to the boys," said Man of the Match Zach Colson.
Marvin Ridge, Hough, and Myers Park all recorded wins over the weekend in North Carolina’s boys school league.
With Marvin Ridge and Hough winning, that sets up a midweek game between those two in a repeat of the 2022-23 final, which Marvin Ridge won.
