The NCR CRC has its men's competitions set, with brackets and pools finalized.
Premier BracketThe Premier Men's Division is a bracket format with 32 teams. The teams play one game to advance to the final 16 with the teams that lose that first round into a consolation bracket.
South Carolina and Memphis are now SCRC 7s champions, as each won their divisional tournament in the conference championship.
D1It was a solid showing for the Gamecocks, and a dramatic one as the USC players needed two late tries to edge Tennessee 26-24.
USC led 14-7 at halftime but three Tennessee tries put the Volunteers up 24-14.
Is there a trend away from 7s in college rugby?
In one sense, the answer to that question is: "obviously not." A huge number of D2 and Small College teams are playing 7s this spring, looking to compete in the CRC in the DC area (Germantown, Md.) at the end of April.
That isn't really changing much.
But elsewhere? Well, let's have a look:
National Collegiate Rugby has announced that the CRC 7s tournament, which had been held in late May in New Orleans these past two years, will move to April and will be held in the DC area.
