GRR: Brown University Women
The NIRA playoffs are upon us, with Finals Weekend at West Point set for November 20-21.
Here’s how it’s all looking:
Legendary American rugby player and coach Kathy Flores has died.
The Head Coach of the Brown University women coached all over the country, including her national chamion Florida State University women's club, multiple national champion Berkeley All Blues, and, of course, the USA National Team.
In dramatic and emotional fashion Brown University held off a determined Quinnipiac 26-20 in women’s NIRA action Saturday.
The victory put Brown at 3-1-1 in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association DI, good for 3rd behind Harvard and Dartmouth.
Two games headline the women's slate of college games this weekend.
Brown rolled to a 46-3 defeat of Sacred Heart to move to 1-0-1 in NIRA's DI.
Zy Thomas, Mahdia Parker, and Lexi Nelson all scored tries that, with Nelson's two conversions, staked Brown to an early first-half lead. By halftime it was 36-0 thanks to tries from Elizabeth Mahoney, Akilah Cathy, and Claudia Dyer. Things slowed down a little in the second half but Brown were in control.
