Boston College News
Boston College defeated New England College this week in a makeup game of a previous postponement.
The result - a convincing 38-16 result for the Eagles - puts BC in excellent position to challenge for the ECRC title later this month.
While AIC leads the ECRC, there’s still plenty of opportunity for other teams to catch up.
That chase is basically between NEC and Boston College. NEC sits at 3-1 and BC is 3-0, so this would be a battle for 2nd (at the moment).
Boston College opened up their ECRC conference account with a 26-12 defeat of University of Connecticut in the Nutmeg State Saturday.
BC led early thanks to a try from Duncan Wood, but UConn replied with two penalty kicks to lead 6-5.
Boston College’s 22-17 over Dartmouth shouldn’t necessarily be thought of as a surprise.
After all, BC downed Dartmouth a year ago, too, in an early-season contest. But the result has resonated somewhat because of Dartmouth’s strong finish last spring. The Eagles, going into the ECRC regular season starting next week, have to feel good about the result, and indeed they do.
The East Coast Rugby Conference, the ECRC, gets ready for another season, with everyone chasing top dogs AIC.
