GRR: Air Force
The hoped-for fixture between the US Naval Academy and US Air Force Academy men will not happen.
Navy was due to travel to Colorado Springs, but was essentially unable to secure transportation to get there.
Air Force is still on track to travel to West Point for November 6.
The US Military Academy men’s teams do seem to be set for competition this fall, but there remains the caveat that it could all change in an instant.
Goff Rugby Report checked in with all three major service academy men’s teams to see what their plans were (and to confirm that their plans jibed with that of the other programs). Here’s what we can tell you:
The Rocky Mountain men’s D1A conference has officially delayed any rugby until the fall.
The conference, which includes Colorado, Colorado State, Utah Valley, Utah State, New Mexico, and Wyoming will look at what they can do in the spring. However, playing in the early spring is difficult for those schools because it can snow well into March, sometimes later.
The US Service Academies may possibly play in a series of games this fall.
Kutztown University dominated Air Force 43-0 to win the D1A Open 7s Qualifier in Las Vegas Saturday to book at spot in the D1A Collegiate 7s Championships to be held later this spring.
