Zags, as they are known among Washington state fans of all sports, has played some good rugby over the years, but is now newly promoted to the DIAA NCRC championship in 15s, and had something to prove in the 7s tournament.

Central Washington went 6-0 over the weekend to win the program's sixth-straight Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference 7s championship.

Washington State University Tri Cities won the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference Cup 7s tournament in Bend, Ore., and has qualified for the NCRC 7s Championships this coming weekend at Central Washington University.

Cal won the West Coast 7s in impressive style this weekend, going 4-0 and outscoring opponents 142-26 (Cal Wins West Coast 7s)
Arizona State took 2nd and Arizona 3rd, while San Diego State won the Plate, and Southern California the Bowl.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.(Cal Rugby Release) - The University of California defeated Arizona DState 53-0 in the final of the West Coast 7s to win the tournament Saturday at the Cal Poly Sports Complex, going 4-0.
