Flood Of Strong Teams At Carolina Ruggerfest
The 2020 Carolina Ruggerfest kicks off this weekend with 18 different brackets for Boys, Girls, and Youth.
Hosted by the North Carolina Youth Rugby Union, the massive event in Matthews, NC brings teams from from 13 different states, with teams coming from as far away as Florida and Illinois.
The brackets are divided up by age and gender, but also by competitive level, with two of the boys brackets looking to be extremely strong.
The Black Mountain Division features the Charlotte Flying Tigers (the club's 1st team), Neuqua out of Illinois, Hudson out of Ohio, and the Badger Academy out of Wisconsin.
The Charlotte Tigers will be fielding multiple sides, which is why their have renamed their 1st team the Flying Tigers. This is, in part, a homage to the military, as the Tigers team has a strong military connection as can be seen on the insignia on their jerseys.
The Blue Ridge Mountain Division is pretty impressive, as well, with the Richmond Strikers, Wando, Media, Hawks,, South Greenville, West Carroll, Salesianum, and Clayton all in action.
On the girls side, the Cape Fear River Division is the strongest, with Tennessee power Columbia Centra, the Badger Academy, Hudson, Brunswick, and Charlotte all in action.
