GRR: Ruggerfest
The Carolina Ruggerfest produced some girls performances of note.
And as we look toward a March and April in girls rugby some of the teams involved put their hands up.
The Carolina Ruggerfest saw HS boys teams in six different brackets, with 23 teams involved.
This group included several teams ranked by GRR and provided a stern test for North Carolina clubs that were just reforming after the school leagues wrapped up two weeks ago.
Teams from all over flooded Charlotte, NC for the Carolina Ruggerfest as a warmup event but also a cap to the winter season.
Teams such as Oceanside from South Carolina, and South Meck from North Carolina, used the tournament as a way to finish up their winter single-school season. Other North Carolina clubs or cold-weather clubs used it as a warmup.
Wow, OK so we have over 80 games this week.
Many of them are shorter games in the Carolina Ruggerfest, which we will be attending, so if you Alex Goff there, come say hi.
But that's not the only tournament going on. Lindenwood University hosts their smaller tournament, too.
Neuqua's season in Rugby Illinois may well be in question, but the Naperville, Ill. HS team came away from the Carolina Ruggerfest feeling pretty good about what they could do.
