We've got high school action through the warmer states with Southern California working toward two championships and everyone else still just getting started.

Southern California

Saint Augustine will likely clinch a place in the final with a win over Fallbrook, while La Costa Canyon's game with St. John Bosco will be a forfeit win and so will move to 3-3. San Clemente is favored to win over Mira Costa and that should confirm a Saints vs San Clemente final.

In the SoCal Youth Rugby Varsity White competition, it's all about the quarterfinals. Here's more:

In the SCIRF Gold league, San Marcos can make it an 8-0 run and a championship against Steele Canyon.

Texas

League play starts in DI with St. Thomas at Cy Fair on Thursday. There are several questions attending this season. The Dallas Harlequins Colts have, sadly, stopped playing for the season because of not being able to recruit enough players. Most of those players, including a really talented backline, will join Allen. So watch out for Allen, who play a tough Westlake in an early league  game.

Strake Jesuit, which has a ton of potential, faces Lamar. It will be interesting to see how Strake, and also Dallas Jesuit (facing Lake Travis on Friday) build on strong 2019 seasons.

Louisiana

The Bayou Hurricanes are idle after winning impressively 32-0 over last weekend against NOLA Jesuit.

Center Jansen Folse opened th scoring with an 80-meter run. Flyhalf Jack Fontenot added a penalty and it was 10-0 at halftime. In the second half, Folse scored two more times and set up a try for Isaiah Oubre. Wing Joshua Joseph added one more. All of that was very impressive for the Hurricanes, but they are idle this weekend. Instead it's time for Jesuit to rebound after a St. Paul's team that edged Brother Martin last week. 

St. Paul's beat Brother Martin 22-17, while Jesuit previously beat Brother Martin 17-12, so this looks to be a close clash.

Arizona

Cienega beat the Tucson Blackbirds last week which is an indication of how the newly-formed single-school Cienega team is improving. But Red Mountain, fresh off a 35-0 defeat of Snow Canyon in which props Hanalei Baker and Sam Jamieson, center Gehrig Comfort, No. 8 Monai West, and fullback Wyatt Reidhead all scored tries, Red Mountain now takes on the Blackbirds and is currently favored to run the table.

In D2, Brophy vs East Valley is about the chase for the top two.

Florida

Week two in Florida and it was disappointing to see about half the games from last week canceled. This time we find out how Key Biscayne can match up with Okapi after losing to Okpai in warmup game earlier. The Cape Pirates have split their squad, and they play each other. Awkward. 

Questions remain on where Jupiter, the Cardinals, and Wellington fit in.
