North Carolina State exploited their superior speed and athleticism to torch Texas State 63-7 in Friday night’s second ACRC Bowl game.

Texas State came into the game the #2 team out of the Southwest Conference, while NC State was the #3 team out of the Atlantic Coast. But the Wolfpack was much the better team, as they were quicker around the field in almost all aspects.

That doesn’t mean it was all about the backs. NC State’s forward pack was aggressive and active and were key t the Wolfpack’s firs three tries. Texas State’s defense held firm through the first 18 minutes before NC State broke through. But as they tired the tries began to come faster and faster.

Locks Adam Hockaday and Adam Dotterer scored for the Wolfpack, and then center Dominik Goldston made it 34-7. Scrumhalf Garrett Murphy scored two in quick succession before Hockaday added his second and wing Amani Maning added two long-range tries.

Texas State kept battling, but were not as athletic or as fit as NC State and it told the story in the scoreline.
