Iona College defeated UMass 28-24 Friday night after falling behind 14-0.
Down two tries, the Gaels got two tries from Mike Scarcella to make it 17-14 UMass, and Mike Marino touched down to put Iona ahead at halftime.
In the second half Dylan Evans extended the Iona lead, and held off UMass 28-24.
“This was a really good game,” said Iona Head Coach Bruce McLane. “It was a pretty even matchup.”
