Indiana Shuts Out Illinois, OSU Wins in Big Ten
Indiana moved to 3-0 in the Big Ten with an impressive 56-0 shutout of Illinois.
The Hoosiers got two tries each from Noah Brown and Russell Lemaster, while Zach Marsh, Peyton Wall, Dan Hughes, and Dan Murtagh all touched down once.
"It was a good all-around team effort 1 through 23," said Indiana Coach Eddie Abel, who added that the set piece improved "massively" from last week's game against Ohio State (where they struggled mightily in the lineout).
"Ball movement was a big focus this week in training and the boys played the most unselfish game I've seen all fall, with excellent support in contact."
Meanwhile, Ohio State, which lost by two to Indiana last week, beat Michigan 50-5.
Vince Carso scored two tries while Brendan Greenwell and Hunter Simons added tries for a 24-0 halftime lead. Two of those tries came off turnovers and two punished Michigan penalties. Simons added another in the second half, and Jack Mikolich, Carso again, and then Joey Phipps also scored for the Buckeyes. Conor Forrestal converted four and Ryan Miller converted one.
Ohio State improves to 1-1.
