Good, Tough Start for CWU Women
The Wildcats and the Vikings gather after the games Friday.
Central Washington's women's team got an early lesson with a 32-12 loss at the University of Victoria, and Coach Mel Denham was just fine with that.
With the all-varsity NIRA season kicking off in three weeks, the Wildcats will need all the lessons they can get.
"It was a great first match," said Denham. "UVic are on of the top Canadian sides in the west league. We fell short on points in the first game, but made some adjustments and came back to win the second game on Friday. It was a successful weekend, we raised our standard and pace of play, and have an idea of what we want to build on from here."
