Central Washington University has begun a search for a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Varsity Men’s Rugby team.

The team is looking for a graduate assistant coach to work with elite level collegiate student-athletes in a full-time varsity rugby setting. Qualified candidates will earn a master’s degree in their desired field while assisting the head coach in planning, coaching/mentoring, recruiting, administering, and promoting the men’s rugby program within institutional standards.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting the head coach in planning and conducting team practices, training, conditioning, and competitions; Teaching rugby skills to student-athletes.

Serving as a mentor by demonstrating a sincere interest in the academic success and general well-being of each student-athlete, from a student first perspective.

Assisting the head coach with recruiting efforts including travel to tournaments, participation in campus visits of prospective students, etc.

Assisting the head coach in planning and developing a competitive schedule and coordinating team travel

Assisting the head coach in promoting the CWU Men’s Rugby program through community outreach, rugby camps, etc.
 

Successful candidates must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited program and a strong knowledge of rugby skills, both 15s and 7s.
