The USA Men’s National Team now looks to face Romania without some big-name players. Brett Thompson left the field early against New Zealand. He had been nursing a shoulder injury and may well have reinjured that.

Troy Hall cannot play for the USA Men's National Team for six months because he did not notify the US Anti-Doping Agency that he was making a comeback to international rugby early enough. Hall was named in the game-day squad for Saturday's test match against New Zealand, but on Saturday morning he was scratched, and Tim Stanfill was named in his place.

It’s hard to find a USA player who played a better game than Scott LaValla. The Stade Francais openside flanker was in full flight with his skill set, which centers on his defense, his security, and his lineout.
