CHULA VISTA, Calif. – USA Rugby has announced the players who will assemble at the Olympic Training Center for the March 8-14 Men’s Eagles Sevens High Performance Camp.
The USA U20 team has a couple of games to play in two weeks, when they face off with Canada’s U20s March 23 at Shawnigan Lake, BC, and March 27 in Langford, BC.
The two-game series will decide which of the two teams will compete in the Junior World Rugby Trophy.
Matai Leuta is one of those players who came out of nowhere. The 6-4, 240-lb power runner was one of two players identified in the Men’s 7s Eagles recruitment camp to get invitations to be in residence at the Olympic Training Center. Ahamad Harajly played for the USA team in Wellington before getting more playing time with the Falcons in Las Vegas.
